Cool
涼 liáng, cooling herbs are only slightly cold and so can be used for treating hot diseases with less contraindications than cold herbs. Some herbs are described as only slightly cooling meaning that they are even closer to neutral.
Some commonly used cool herbs include green tea (lu cha ye, Camellia sinensis), mint (bo he, Mentha x piperita), chrysanthemum (ju hua, Chrysanthemum x morifolium), hibiscus (fu rong hua, Hibiscus sabdariffa) and red sage (dan shen, Salvia miltiorrhiza).
