Anthelmintic
Anthelmintic herbs help to expel parasitic worms and other parasites from the body via various mechanisms. Anthelmintics can induce paralysis by impacting nerve signaling, or prevent them from maintaining attachment, thereby supporting subsequent expulsion from the body.
Other mechanisms include starvation through inhibition of energy production or metabolic disruption. Anthelmintic herbs may also have antimicrobial or alterative actions, which help to contribute to its effect on expelling parasites.
Examples include wormwood (Artemisia absinthium), black walnut (Juglans nigra), thyme (Thymus vulgaris) and feverfew (Tanacetum parthenium).
