Fat (medovaha srotas)
The fat channels (medovaha srotas) are responsible for the circulation, metabolism, and regulation of fat tissue, crucial for energy balance and proper nourishment of the body. Medovaha srotas originate mainly from the skin and omentum, transporting adipose tissue throughout the body.
Proper flow ensures energy storage, lubrication of joints, and overall vitality, while vitiation — due to factors like sedentary lifestyle, day sleep, or excessive fatty foods — can lead to obesity, diabetes predisposition, or fat-related metabolic disorders.
Ayurvedic management involves lightening (langhana therapy), diet, exercise, and herbs like triphala (Terminalia chebula, T. bellirica, Phyllanthus emblica) and guggul (Commiphora mukul). Herbs relevant for fat tissue will also be relevant for this channel.
