Lung
肺 fèi is the solid, yin organ (藏 záng) related to the metal phase. It is the basis of qi and respiration, controls the channels and blood vessels, governs disseminating and descending and regulates the water passages.
Lung channel herbs manifest in the skin and express themselves in the body hair. Among the senses, it opens into the nose and commands the voice.
Within the spiritual domain, it houses the corporeal soul (魄 pò) and is affected by sorrow. Its yin–yang property is considered greater yin (太陰 or 太阴 tàiyīn).
