Cleanses the blood (rakta shodhana/rakta prasadana)
Rakta shodhana and rakta prasadana herbs work to purify the rakta dhatu (blood tissue) so it no longer provokes inflammatory or heat‑driven disorders. Rakta shodhana refers to deep blood‑cleansing actions, removing toxins and metabolic wastes, while rakta prasadana denotes calming, cooling, and restoring the quality of the blood so it flows smoothly without irritation.
Classic examples include manjishta (Rubia cordifolia), a premier purifier; guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia), which cools and stabilises pitta dosha; neem (Azadirachta indica), a potent detoxifier; and sariva (Hemidesmus indicus), known for soothing heat and improving complexion. These herbs collectively reduce inflammation and support healthy circulation.
