Nervous (majjavaha srotas)
The nervous channels (majjavaha srotas) nourish bone marrow and nervous tissues, ensuring vitality and proper neural function. They originate in bones and spread throughout the body, circulating nutrients and life energy to the brain, spinal cord, and nerves. They maintain mental clarity, memory, coordination, and nervous system health. Imbalances, caused by incompatible diet, injury, or metabolic wastes, can lead to joint pain, dizziness, memory loss or neurological disorders.
Ayurveda emphasises cleansing, nutrition, and herbs to support, promoting optimal neural function and vitality. The nervous channel specifically nourishes the nervous tissue, so herbs relevant for nervous tissue will also be relevant for this channel.
