Female reproductive (artavavaha srotas)
The artavavaha srotas are channels of the female reproductive system responsible for the transport of artava, encompassing both the ovum and menstrual blood.
Rooted in the uterus and associated vessels, these channels maintain reproductive health, fertility, and normal menstrual flow. Proper function ensures conception, healthy pregnancies, and menstruation. Imbalances can cause infertility, amenorrhea, dysmenorrhea, or dyspareunia. Ayurveda emphasises lifestyle and diet to preserve artavavaha srotas, integrating hormonal, vascular, and anatomical considerations, reflecting holistic care for female reproductive vitality, emotional stability, and overall wellbeing.
The menstruum (artava vaha srotas) is supported by ashoka (Saraca asoca), aloe vera (Aloe vera) and shatavari (Asparagus racemosus).
