Bone (asthivaha srotas)
Bone channels (asthivaha srotas) are responsible for transporting nutrients to bones, maintaining their strength, structure, and integrity. They originate primarily from fat tissue and the hip / pelvic bones.
They support bone formation, maintenance, and indirectly influence teeth, nails, and body hair. Vitiation, often due to aggravated vata dosha, trauma, excessive exercise, or poor diet, can lead to osteoporosis, fractures, arthritis, bone pain or deformities. Treatments include medicated oils, nutrition, and lifestyle adjustments to strengthen bones.
The bone channel specifically nourishes the bone tissue, so herbs relevant for bone tissue will also be relevant for this channel.
