Dr. Sukvinder Kaur Bhamra
Dr. Sukvinder Kaur Bhamra is a Pharmacist and Senior Lecturer in Pharmacy Practice at the Medway School of Pharmacy, University of Kent. Her PhD in Ethnopharmacology explored the use of traditional herbal remedies, knowledge exchange through generations and the authentication of herbal medicines using DNA barcoding techniques.
Suky joined the Medway School of Pharmacy in August 2016, where she teaches clinical decision-making and dermatology. Some of her current research projects include improving healthcare professionals’ knowledge of herbal medicines, nutrition advice in community pharmacy and mental health in migrant communities.
Suky’s research aims to provide evidence-based insight into how natural products are used to support health and wellbeing in the UK, helping both patients and practitioners make better-informed decisions. She is passionate about reconnecting modern medicine with traditional knowledge.
