Antiproliferative
Antiproliferative herbs help to inhibit rapid cell growth or multiplication commonly associated with cancer or tumours. Herbs with antiproliferative effects typically exert their effect by disrupting cell cycle processes, promoting apoptosis or inhibiting pathways involved in metastasis. Many antiproliferatives also possess antioxidant actions, helping to protect cellular function and prevent damage and tumour formation.
These herbs can be applied to prevent the formation of rapid tissue growth including psoriasis, cancer, cysts or warts. Examples include thuja (Thuja occidentalis), rosemary (Salvia rosmarinus), nettle root (Urtica dioicia) and greater celandine (Chelidonium majus).
