Urine increasing (mutravirechana)
Mutravirechana herbs are Ayurvedic diuretics that increase the flow of urine, helping clear excess pitta dosha, reduce water retention and flush metabolic wastes from the urinary system. They are typically cooling, soothing and mildly stimulating to the kidneys and bladder.
Gokshura (Tribulus terrestris) is a classical mutravirechana herb, valued for supporting urinary tract health in bladder and kidney infections, renal colic, kidney stones, urinary retention, cloudy urination and haematuria. Coriander (Coriandrum sativum) offers gentle diuretic and pitta‑pacifying effects, useful in burning urination or mild inflammation. Also, punarnava (Boerhavia diffusa), known for reducing oedema and enhancing renal function through its effective diuretic action.
