Stop coughing (kasahara)
Kasahara herbs are used in Ayurveda to soothe coughing, clear mucus, and support healthy respiratory function by reducing aggravated kapha, vata and calming airway irritation. Their actions may be cooling, warming or expectorant depending on the cough type.
Vasaka (Adhatoda vasica) is a classic herb for productive coughs, helping to dilate the bronchi and expel mucus. Pippali (Piper longum) offers warming, kapha‑reducing effects ideal for cold, congested coughs. Tulsi (Ocimum tenuiflorum), a revered adaptogenic herb, provides gentle bronchodilation, antimicrobial action and relief from spasmodic or allergic coughs. Together, these herbs help restore respiratory ease and reduce persistent coughing.
